Top Chinese official expects important agreements be reached in May
MOSCOW, Apr 12 (PRIME) -- China expects important high-level agreements to be concluded with Russia at the Silk Road Economic Forum in May, Chinese State Council Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli told Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich on Wednesday.
“We can expect new integral analysis and new important agreements to be achieved during the up-coming high-level meetings,” he said.
Dvorkovich said that Chinese President Xi Jinping is to visit Russia in early July.
On Tuesday, Gaoli, Vice President of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) Wang Dongjin and gas giant Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller discussed gas supplies, Gazprom said in a statement.
“The parties have considered the main points of Russia-Chinese cooperation in the gas industry. In particular, they discussed projects to deliver gas from Russia to China, including supplies via the Eastern route -- the Sila Sibiri (Power of Siberia) natural gas pipeline, and deliveries from the Far Eastern regions,” the statement read.
Gas storage and gas motor fuels issues were also discussed.
Gaoli said he plans to meet with oil major Rosneft CEO Igor Sechin on Wednesday.
